April 28 The end of an eraAll was over when we finally reached the last day of this spring semester. Hoping to taste the job of a RA, at the last one hour that day, I dismissed the RA team and run the experiment by myself. Honestly this was my first time to personally run experiments in the US. I had thought it’s so easy, as I said to the RAs. But it proved wrong. Sarcastically I even hadn’t found the correct path of experiment programming when four participants arrived. Then I had to turn to the instruction sheet. After knowing path, I noticed I hadn’t created condition and participant ID numbers. Gosh! Don’t tell other people this was the performance of a lab manager, like a layman! Kenji suggested we go out to celebrate the day after the experiment. Why not? I had waited the day for A year. When went out of the lab, I took a deep breath, feeling so relaxed. The days of manager has gone, forever. In the food court, we talked a lot, about our lab, our each future, and each country. I suddenly realized that we also could make Japanese friends without boundary, and the feeling was not bad at all. He also had so much complaint about Japan. Of course, no country is perfect, but people are individually different. Whatever, I’m happy.
